EGU General Assembly 2024
The EGU General Assembly 2024 brings together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience. WDS previously highlighted a volunteer opportunity for the Open Science and Data help desk.

Digital Preservation Awards 2024
The Digital Preservation Awards are back for 2024! The awards celebrate the work of the coalition's welcoming and inclusive global community which works together to bring about a sustainable future for their digital assets. The awards are held every two years. They enable the DPC, acting on behalf of the global digital preservation community, to endorse and celebrate outstanding work which may go unrecognized by others, and which may be little known among the senior managers of the agencies sponsoring this work. The Digital Preservation Awards is open for nominations until 08:00 AM UTC on Monday 22 April and will culminate in a ceremony at the iPres 2024 Conference in Ghent & Flanders, Belgium on Monday 16 September.

ASIS&T'S Nomination Call for 2024 InfoShare Membership Award
The ASIS&T's Special Interest Group on International Information Issues (SIG-III) is sponsoring another group of deserving Information Professionals from developing countries for complimentary ASIS&T memberships.
Eligibility - The preference InfoShare Award will be given to the candidates belonging to Tier 1 countries as the candidates from Tier 2 countries can get free membership (for two years).
- The current ASIS&T member cannot be the nominee for the award.
- The individual should not be the InfoShare award winner in the last five years
- Only ASIS&T members can nominate any suitable candidate
The deadline for submitting nominations is 15 May. The announcement of successful candidates is 30 May.

HICSS-58 Call for Papers - Software Sustainability: Research on Usability, Maintainability, and Reproducibility Minitrack
This minitrack is dedicated to exploring the critical intersection of software usability, sustainability, and reproducibility, acknowledging the expanding role of software in shaping research across diverse domains. The three concepts are interconnected with each other and cover a wide range of application areas. They affect all layers of the software process – from enabling reproducing experiments via an easy user interface to using containerization for application portability. Such concepts are also relevant in the building of Science Gateways (also known as virtual laboratories or virtual research environments), which by definition serve communities with end-to-end solutions tailored specifically to their needs. The minitrack will focus on the broad spectrum of submissions that deal with complex scenarios such as containerization, strategies for long-lasting software, usability and user interface issues, handling data curation and provenance, and more.

Vacancy to Fill: Project Manager for National Open Research Forum (NORF)
Applications are invited for the position of Project Manager, National Open Research Forum (NORF) at the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI), located at the Royal Irish Academy. NORF has released a multi-annual National Action Plan for Open Research, and a fund has been made available from the Higher Education Authority and Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to progress actions in the plan via a series of calls for proposals. DRI is the coordinating organization for NORF and is managing this fund.

Computational Postdoctoral Candidate in the Field of Data Science
The Becker group at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology is looking for a Computational Postdoctoral Candidate (m/f/div) in the Field of Data Science to join their multi-disciplinary team to work on algorithms for mass spectrometry data analysis. The Becker group is working in close collaboration with Johannes Köster at the Institute for AI in Medicine, University of Duisburg-Essen.
The primary objective of this role is to pioneer and maintain innovative computational strategies and algorithms, facilitating research in the lab’s core areas. This entails analyzing newly generated datasets and investigating the potential of novel algorithmic, statistical, and machine learning solutions to foster the creation of new computational tools. The position provides opportunities for collaboration with both internal and external scientists to analyze and interpret novel findings using innovative methods, thereby contributing to ongoing projects and fostering the development of individual projects.
